Velma Neely Butler

Velma Nell Neely Butler, 87, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at her home in Richland, MS. Visitation will be Monday, August 1, 2016 from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm and Tuesday, August 2, 2016 from 10 am until the 11 am Chapel Service at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Richland, MS.
Burial will follow in the Richland Cemetery.
Velma Nell Neely was born on March 9, 1929 in Hinds County, MS to the late Braxtel Lee and Josephine Toole Neely. She had been a resident of Richland for over 81 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Richland. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Josh Dewey Butler, Sr.; her son, Josh Dewey Butler, Jr.; her great grandson, Josh Dewey Butler, IV; and her brother, Vernon D. Neely.
Survivors include her son, Keith Allen Butler, Jr. of Richland, MS; her sister, Helen Reese of Clinton, MS; her brother, Braxtel Lee Neely, Jr. (Faye Nell) of Richland, MS; daughter in law, Wanda Butler of Wiggins, MS; sister in law: Joann Neely of Richland, MS; four grandchildren, Keith Allen Butler, Jr. (Shandi), Lori Jo Burris (Rick), Josh Dewey Butler, III (Katie), and Jessica LeeAnne Johnson (Daniel); six great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorials may be made to the Youth Ministry of First Baptist Church, Richland, MS 39218.
