MISS VERA LEE GOMILLION
SEBASTOPOL, MS
Miss Vera Lee Gomillion, age 100, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Ms. Care Center in Morton. Graveside services were held 11am Monday, April 18, 2011 at the Damascus Primitive Baptist Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Miss Gomillion is a native of Sebastopol, MS. She was born on January 6, 1911. Miss Vera was a member of the Damascus Primitive Baptist Church. She loved to socialize with people, read a good mystery book, quilt with her sisters, do housework and milk cows. Her favorite song was Amazing Grace. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank Gomillion and Edna Gunn Gomillion; sisters, Amanda Tatum, Mae Tatum, Lucille Clark and Myrtle Madden; nephews, Joe Tatum and Max Tatum; nieces, Virginia Benson and Jean Stroud.
She is survived by 3 great nieces, Cindy Thompson of Rogers, AR, Melba Ivey of Jackson, TN and Lucretia Gaddis of Forest; 3 great nephews, Bill Stroud Jr. of New Jersey, Ronald Stroud of Preston, MS and Keith Tatum of Jackson, MS; 2 nieces-in-law, Sue Tatum of Morton and Joyce Tatum of Walnut Grove.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
