Vernon Robinson

February 23, 1933 — December 22, 2017

Funeral services for Mr. Vernon Robinson will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 from the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joey Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Antioch-Steele Cemetery under the direction of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at the funeral home and on Wednesday from 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm prior to the funeral service.

Claude Vernon Robinson was born in Scott County on February 23, 1933 and passed away at Lackey Memorial Hospital in Forest on December 22, 2017 at the age of 84.

Mr. Robinson was a lifelong resident of Scott County and will be remembered for the love he had for his family and friends.A favorite past time was his interest in participating in wagon trains and tending to his farm, and his animals.  He was a retired self-employed trucker and a Baptist by faith, holding membership with Ephesus Baptist Church. He served his country in the United State Navy during the Korean War.

He is preceded in death by one daughter: Sherry Van Skiver; his parents: Claude William & Verascie Warren Robinson and two brothers: Earl Robinson and Marty Robinson.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years: Mrs. Jean Robinson of Forest; four children: Gary (Sharon) Robinson of Harperville; Vivian (Rudy) Phillips of Homewood; Kathy (Darrell) Abel of Belzoni; and Jenny (Ronnie) Savoie of New Orleans, LA; twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; three step-children: Roger (Angela) Gunn of Laurel; Rodney (Teresa) Gunn of Raymond; and Rochelle (Steve) Chennault of Kosciusko; four step grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren; two brothers: Leo Robinson and Leonard Robinson, both of Forest; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tom Cooper, Ricky McGee, Kenneth Warren, Keith Warren, and Larry Crimm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Steele Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
