Vernon “Butch” Lee Vaughn, 71, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at his home. A celebration of life will be at 2 P.M. Sunday, March 17, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Richland, MS.

Mr. Vaughn was born in Amarillo, TX on January 3, 1948, to the late Vernon H. Vaughn and Emma Lee Jackson Vaughn.  Butch joined the U.S. Marines in 1966.  He graduated from the University of Tennessee with a bachelor’s degree in criminal science and a minor in psychology. He later became a Police Officer, an Ordained Deacon and a Minister.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Linda Seale Vaughn; son, Barry Vaughn and wife Tiffany; sister, Deborah Lambert; brother, Dennis Vaughn and wife Joan; and 2 grandchildren, Allayna Vaughn and Isabella Vaughn; sister-in-law, Betsy Gibson and husband Jeff, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions to First Baptist Church Richland, 1102 Highway 49 South, Richland, MS 39218 or to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 2630 Southerland Drive, Jackson, MS 39216 are suggested in lieu of flowers.
