Vesta Renfroe
January 15, 1930 — February 3, 2016
On February 3, 2016, Dad’s much loved wife and our beloved Mom went into the arms of her Lord and Savior. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Crossgates Baptist Church in Brandon, MS with private interment to follow at Rehobeth Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, February 5, 2016 from 5-8 pm at Crossgates Baptist Church and 10am – 11am Saturday. Rev. John Renfroe and Rev. David Jett will officiate the services. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS.
Mrs. Renfroe was a native of Brookhaven, MS. She was the daughter of Judson Wilson and Mada Smith Price. She was married to Rev. John C. Renfroe, Sr. She was a member of Crossgates Baptist Church in Brandon, MS. Mrs. Renfroe was a teacher and served 20 years for the Pearl Public School District. She served for many years as a Chaplain for the Mississippi State Correctional Facility in Pearl, MS, in addition to serving as Chaplain in several local hospitals. She loved her family very much and spent countless hours on her knees praying for her family, friends and country. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
Mrs. Renfroe was preceded in death by her parents, Judson Wilson Price and Mada Smith Price; brothers, Joe Price and Jay Price; sisters, Elizabeth Steegmuller and Faye Jordan.
Mrs. Renfroe is survived by her husband of 63 years, Rev. J.C. Renfroe; children, John Calvin (Anita) Renfroe, Jr., Carol Renfroe (Charlie) Utroska, Joel Wilson (Krista) Renfroe and Cecelia Renfroe (Dr. Scott) Stearman; sister, Patricia Price (Harley) Brown; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; endeared niece, Linda Tucker; and nieces, nephews and friends.
