Virgie M. May, 82, a resident of Brandon, MS died December 2, 2015 at Merit Health Rankin in Brandon, MS. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 pm Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon with the interment in Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS. Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm Friday, December 4, 2015 at the funeral home. Dr. Keith Grubbs and Rev. Jerry Owens officiated the services. Arrangements are entrusted the care of Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS.
Mrs. May was born December 13, 1933 to Willie James Rutledge and Ada Ann McKenzie Rutledge. She was married to James Rufus May. Mrs. May worked as an Inspector for Presto Manufacturing for many years. She was a member of Park Place Baptist Church in Pearl, MS. Mrs. May loved her family very much and spending time with them brought great joy to her life. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
Mrs. May was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, James Rufus May; parents, Willie James Rutledge and Ada Ann McKenzie Rutledge; her siblings, Minnola Stokes, Gladys Jackson, Robbie Cumberland, John Rutledge, Clarence Rutledge and Edward Rutledge.
Mrs. May is survived by her daughter, Debra (James) Robinson; granddaughter, Anna (Ashley) Bates; great granddaughters, Summer Bates and Sophia Bates; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
