Funeral services for Mrs. Virgie Mae Kennedy, 86, a resident of Brandon, MS, will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Brandon, MS. Reverend Holley Tennison will officiate. Interment will be in the Rehobeth Cemetery in Pelahatchie, MS. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2017 from 10am until the service time at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS.
Mrs. Kennedy, 86, went to her Heavenly Home on Monday, April 10, 2017 at Brandon Court Nursing home, following an extended illness. She was born on July 22, 1930 in Corinth (Alcorn County) Mississippi to Walter and Gertrude Wilson.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, John Henry Kennedy, Jr., her son, James Louis Kennedy, her parents, and 3 brothers H.T. Wilson, Gene Wilson, James McCulloch, Vernon McCulloch and Jerry McCulloch.
Survivors include 4 daughters, Laura (Benny) Robertson of Columbus, MS, Ann (Jimmy) Briggs of Brandon, MS, Wanda (Rick) Gates of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Bonnie (Dan) Armstrong of Brandon, MS: 2 sons, Johnnie (Judy) Kennedy of Cicero, Illinois, Chuck (Laura) Kennedy of Bolling Brook, Illinois, 2 brothers Lester McCulloch of Tennessee, David McCulloch of Kentucky and 1 sister Faye Lester of Tennessee; 17 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers and Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons.
