Virginia Nobles

March 17, 1934 — February 12, 2017

Virginia Ann Nobles, 82, died Sun. Feb. 12, 2017 at St. Dominics Hospital in Jackson, MS after an extended illness. Virginia was born in Jackson, MS to James Warren Nobles, Sr., and Vendetta Buchanan Nobles on March 17, 1934. She lived the first few years of her life in Jackson, where she attended Barr Elementary School. The family moved to Pearl, MS in 1945 where she attended Pearl High School, from which she graduated in 1952 as the Valedictorian of her high school class. Virginia was employed at Mississippi Valley Gas Company for 47 years, starting as a clerk in the billing department and became a computer programmer. Virginia was a faithful member of the Pearl United Methodist Church until she moved to the Shiloh Community in 1969. She was an active member of the Shiloh United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School, was a member of the Official board and was a member of the Minnie Nobles Circle of the United Methodist Women.

Virginia is survived by two sisters, Peggy Nobles Hughes (Robert) of Madison, MS and Linda Nobles Jennings (Larry) of Cordova, TN; one brother, James W. Nobles, Jr. (Freda) of Clinton, MS, numerous nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be at Shiloh United Methodist Church in Pelahatchie, MS on Thurs. Feb. 16, 2017 at 3pm with burial to follow in the Shiloh United Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thurs. Feb. 16, 2017 from 1pm-3pm at Shiloh United Methodist Church in Pelahatchie, MS. Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS is in charge of funeral arrangements.
