Mrs. Webb was a graduate from Winona High School, going on to Belhaven College where she received a degree in Christian Education. At Belhaven, Virginia was a beauty and was part of the Belhaven Singing Christmas Tree for four years. She also represented Montgomery County in the Miss Mississippi Pageant.

Virginia was an enthusiast of The Chaminade Club, a performing music club. She joined the club as a pianist in 2005 and gave her piano program faithfully each year as well as serving as a Secretary of the Club for several years. In 2007, Virginia and 11 other daughters organized a new chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), the LeFleur’s Bluff Chapter NSDAR in the Reservoir area. Since organizing the LeFleur’s Bluff Chapter, Virginia has continually served as an officer: Recording Secretary, Corresponding Secretary, Chaplain, and Chapter Regent. As Regent, Virginia added singing “The Star-Spangled Banner” before each meeting, in true fashion of her love of music.

Virginia also served on the board of the Mill Creek Home Owner’s Association in the position of secretary from May 2005 to May 2007. She was instrumental in starting a neighborhood beautification project in the form of the Yard of the Month. Virginia served as the Director of Music at Lakeside Presbyterian Church for twenty years. She also started The Martha’s Ministry, which provides meals to individuals or families in the Lakeside family where there is a need. Virginia was also the director of the senior adult ministry.

Over the years, Virginia formed and directed many children’s, youth, and adult choirs. She taught piano for over thirty years, focusing on teaching grandchildren in the last few years. Virginia was also a wedding coordinator/director for almost fifty years. Virginia was first and foremost a child of God. Her faith in Jesus Christ was the cornerstone of her character, her marriage, her family and her work. She was a selfless servant to her family, friends and her church. She is now singing with the angels. Virginia enjoyed traveling with her husband Emmett, and soaking up the love of her 16 grandchildren.

Survivors are her husband, Emmett Webb; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Cheryl Armstrong and their children, Luke and Laney; son and daughter-in-law, Matt and Tyler Armstrong, and their children, Shields and Addison; daughter and son-in-law, Audra and Phillip Bowman, and their children, Blaine, Wesley and Amelia Dare; sister, Carole Watts Graves and her husband Bob; sister, Stelloise Watts Basinger and her husband, John; four stepchildren, Emmett J.
