Vivian Carol Payne Smith, 82, passed away on Sun. Oct. 16, 2022 at Cooperwood Assisted Living in Flowood, MS. Graveside Services are 2:30pm on Thurs. Oct. 20, 2022 at Oakdale Cemetery in Brandon, MS. Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS is handling arrangements.

Mrs. Smith was born on Aug. 30, 1940 in Pelahatchie, MS to the late Alvin Lloyd Payne and Iva Dell Huff Payne. She was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church in Brandon, MS.

She is survived by her daughter, Angela Carol Smith Lucius (Mike); 3 grandchildren, Garrett Payne Maldonado, Andrew Michael Lucius (Rebecca) and Amanda Kate Lucius (Cory Taylor); 2 great grandchildren, Molly Faye Lucius and Matthew Joseph Lucius; sister, Terry Lynn Thornton and 3 brothers, James L. Payne (Betty), Doyle Lavon Payne (June) and Tommy Lee Payne. Mrs. Smith is also preceded in death by her son, Marcus Nolan Smith; sister, Katherine Faye Thomley; sister in law, Anita Payne and a brother in law, Mike Thornton.
