Voncile H. Melton, 86, a retired factory worker with Sunbeam, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2012, in Monticello, Florida.
The graveside service is 2:00 PM, Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Pine Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery in Lake, Mississippi.
She was born January 26, 1926, in Philadelphia, Mississippi, to the now late Irvin and Mamie Cocroft Howell. She was a member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church in Lake, Mississippi, where she sang in the choir with her late husband, George Allen Melton. She also enjoyed poetry, painting, arts and crafts.
She is survived by a son, Jerry Melton (Malinda); grandchildren, Tony M. Melton, Jessica Melton Small (Russ), Matthew Gabriel Melton; two great-grandchildren; brother, Roy Freeman Howell (Katherine); sisters, Helen Thornton, Linda Faye Browning (Eugene); daughter-in-law, Judy Melton; sister-in-law, Dale Howell.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Roy Allen Melton; brother, Ray Howell; sister, Kate Howell.
Ott and Lee Funeral Home, Forest, Mississippi, is in charge of arrangements.
