Wade G “Butch” Hammett, 71, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Baptist Hospital in Jackson, MS. Visitation is 3-5 pm Sunday, April 12, 2015 & 12 noon Monday, April 13, 2015 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Services are 1 pm Monday at the funeral home with burial at Cedar Hills Cemetery in Vicksburg at 3 pm.
Butch grew up in Port Gibson and was a longtime resident of Pearl. He was preceded in death by his father, T.K. Hammett and mother, Ruby Hammett. He was a great and gentle man, always smiling. He loved hunting, fishing & tinkering with small engines. He cherished his grandchildren most of all. He will be greatly missed by all who knew & loved him.
Survivors include: wife, Shirley Graham of Pearl; daughters, Sandra Pittman (Richard) of Jackson and Karen Holton (Danny) of Pearl; son, Russell Cousins of Pearl; and grandchildren, Max, Cory and Lindsey.
