Walter Martin

Mr. Walter “Buddy” Neal Martin, Sr., age 89, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at the VA Nursing Home in Kosciusko, MS.

Funeral services will be Sunday, July 28, 2019 at 2:00pm from the chapel of Ott and Lee Funeral Home, Brandon with Dr. Keith Grubbs officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:00pm until service time. A Graveside service will follow at 4:30pm at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Inverness, MS.

Buddy was born on January 24, 1930 in Indianola, MS to the late Walter Roy Martin and Carrie Ann Lipe Martin.

He loved his family, gardening, and work. Buddy retired from the Alamo Group at the age of 81. He still sold equipment after retirement for several of his dealers from the nursing home. Buddy loved his yearly vacation every summer with his longtime friends from Texas.

Buddy is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Dorothy Tinnin Martin; siblings, Margaret Gordon, Billie Horton, Harvey Martin, and Bobby Martin; two grandsons, Zachary Neal Martin and Jonathan Allen Hunt.

He is survived by two children, Walter Neal Martin Jr. (Suzan) of Saltillo, MS and Kathy McDill (Mark) of Pearl, MS; four grandchildren, Laura Hunt, Jessica Ordway (Tyler), Mary Elizabeth Brandon (Garrett) and Hunter McDill; five great-grandchildren, Saylor Hunt, Gaige Hunt, Suttyn Claire Hunt, Gunnar Ordway, and Walker Ordway. A host of other relatives and friends.
