Wanda L. Ray, age 85, and a resident of Forest died Saturday, September 3, 2022, in Jackson following an extended illness.
Funeral services were conducted at 12pm Wednesday, September 7, 2022, from the chapel of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest with interment in Harperville Cemetery. Bro. Joey Smith officiated. Visitation was held from 10am till the service time.
Mrs. Ray was born in Neshoba County on Friday, August 13, 1937, to her parents George Williamson and Hattie Lee Gentry Williamson. She worked in the Cafeteria at Forest Municipal Schools until her retirement. She was a member of Steel Baptist Church. She loved the outdoors, people, and especially her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Julian Ray, and her daughter Cheryl Denson.
Survivors include her 3 children; Helen R. Phillips (Larry) of Plantersville, TX. Charles Ray, and Pam R. Burnham both of Forest. Other survivors include a brother, J. Ray Williamson of Plantersville, TX. sisters, Myrna Sue of Shernock, PA, and Nelda Watts of McCool, MS. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 2 step-grandchildren.
