Wayne Burnett passed from this life into glory on Tuesday, July 31, 2018. He was a Christian, a member of First Baptist Church of Brandon for over 50 years, a deacon, and a Gideon. He loved his Lord, his family, his church, and his country. In his earlier years he taught a young men’s Sunday school class and for the last six years had been a devoted prayer partner with five other men on a weekly basis.
Mr. Burnett worked in law enforcement, with the governor’s office, and became an attorney-at-law later in life as his chosen career. He used this profession to help many people that could not afford representation.
He was married to the love of his life, Betty, for over 60 years. He was affectionately known as Papaw to his four grandchildren, Ryan, Brandon, Nathan, and Emily, and Dad to his three children, Mike, Jim, and Alisa.
He was a proud veteran, a marine who served in the Korean War, and loved to fly his American flag.
