Wayne Shoemaker, age 74, a resident of Forest died Saturday March 30, 2013 at Lackey Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm Tuesday April 2, 2013 from the Clifton Baptist Church with interment in the Clifton Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5pm-9pm Monday April 2, 2013 at OTT & LEE FUNERAL HOME and Tuesday from 10am til service time at the church. Rev. Andy Boles and Rev. Marshall Lum officiated.
Mr. Shoemaker was born in Scott County to Jack Shoemaker and Mandy Stewart Shoemaker on October 1, 1938. He was a member of Clifton Baptist Church, a carpenter by trade until his retirement in 1987.
He was passionate about his family. He enjoyed family gatherings, loved to fish and go camping. His favorite pastime was being outdoors and enjoying nature.
Preceding him death were his parents, 6 brothers; Sylvester Shoemaker, B.J. Shoemaker, Charles Ray Shoemaker, Johnny Shoemaker, Milton Shoemaker, Wesley Shoemaker; 2 sisters; Louise Turner and Modena Ansley.
Survivors include his loving wife, Bobbie G. Shoemaker, 3 sons; Billy Wayne Shoemaker, Tommy Jack Shoemaker (Barbara) and Larry B. Shoemaker (Darla) all of Forest. He is also survived by 2 sisters; Emma Harvey and Dianne Fisher both of Forest. Mr. Shoemaker also leaves behind a legacy of 5 grandchildren; Anastasia Shoemaker, T.J. Shoemaker, Dwayne Shoemaker, Josh Shoemaker, and Tyler Shoemaker; 3 great-grandchildren; Adam Shoemaker, Hayden Shoemaker, Madison Shoemaker and Cooper Shoemaker.
Pallbearers are Thomas Neely, Dwayne Shoemaker, Chris Fisher, Josh Shoemaker, Claude Earl Gregory, T.J. Shoemaker and Jimmy Stewart.
