Willette L. Coker, aged 74, passed away on December 4,2024, at her home in Brandon, MS. She was born on August 30, 1950. Willette dedicated over 32 years of her life to the Hudspeth Regional Center, where she served as the Payroll Director. In addition to her professional career, she was the records keeper and financial secretary at Bethel Baptist Church, a place that held immense significance for her and where she was an active member with her husband.
Willette had a joyful spirit and loved spending time outdoors. She enjoyed fishing and camping alongside her husband, Donald Ray Coker. Family was close to her heart; her grandbabies were her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Willette also had a talent for arts and crafts, often engaging in these activities with her Bible Study groups and at home.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Ray Coker; her sons, Donnie Coker, Charlie Coker, Sam Coker, and William "Bennie" Coker; her daughters, Nancy Smith and Katie Battenfield and husband Jim; her sister, Susan Jennings; and 13 grandchildren, along with many great and great-great-grandchildren.
Willette was preceded in death by her father, Willard Lee Shepherd, and her mother, Katherine Josephine Norris Mullins, and sisters, Katherine Herrod and Martha Wallace.
A visitation will be held on December 6, 2024, at Bethel Baptist Church in Brandon, MS, starting at 9:30 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Willette will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
