Thomas Deel II, age 90, passed away on Saturday January 14, 2012 at G.V.
"Sonny" Montgomery V A Medical  Center in Jackson, MS following a brief
illness.

 Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm Tuesday January 17, 2012 from the Lena United
Methodist Church with interment in the Contrell Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 5pm to 8pm
Monday at Ott & Lee Funeral home in Morton and Tuesday from 1pm to 2pm at Lena United Methodist Church.   Rev. James Milner and Rev. Hugh Smith will officiate the services.  

 He was born to parents William Thomas Deel and Carolyn Ada McBrayer, in Wallerville, Union County, Ms. Shortly after his
father's death, he was placed in the United Methodist Children's. He joined the United States Navy in 1940 and served until 1946, when he was honorable
discharged. He was an aviation machinist in the service. After serving, he was
employed by Jackson Stone Company until his retirement as an architectural patternmaker. On Nov. 4, 1954 he married Nancy Jean Whitley of Brandon, MS. and
together they had five children. After her death in January of 1964, he then married Mary Alice James in December, 1964. 
 He was a member of Lena United
Methodist Church, was a Mason, and a member of Woodmen of the World Lodge #195.

 Mr.
Deel was preceded in death by his parents, two of his sisters, Mary Ola Hemphill of Tampa, FL,  Marie Dow of Jackson, MS and his brother, Walter Samuel Deel of Jackson, MS.  

He was a member of Lena United Methodist Church, He was a Mason, and a member of Woodmen of the World Lodge #195. 

 He is survived by his children, William Thomas Deel, III, of Morton, MS , Lamar Wayne Deel of Lena, MS, Judy Deel Miller of Jackson,MS, Walter Lewis Deel of Madison, MS , and Deborah Deel Moore of Lena, MS. He is, also, survived by his twin, Lillian Deel Moak of Pensacola, FL.,
eleven grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren.
