William Earl Means, 71, a resident of Brandon, MS passed away Thursday, November 1, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral sevices will be held at 2 pm Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS with interment in Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS. Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Friday, November 2, 2018 and from 1-2 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Means was born April 5, 1947 to Billy Means and Hattie Mae Gray Means. He served as I.S. Director for Southern Farm Bureau for many years before retiring. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church in Pelahatchie, MS where he played the piano. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. Mr. Means had a love for music and enjoyed playing for quartets and different groups. He enjoyed rescuing animals and had a special dog named Lucy. He loved his wife, Betty his best friend, and loved spending time with her. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
Mr. Means is survived by his wife of 35 years, Betty Morgan Means; step daughter, Teresa (Greg) Hood; sisters, Barbara Jean (Robert) Boyett and Karen (Barry) McKay; nieces, Morgan (Justin) Raley and Shelby McKay and a host of friends.
