William Erwin

William A. Erwin, age 75, a resident of Hazlehurst, MS passed away Sunday, June 28, 2020 at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in McComb, MS. Funeral services will be held 11:30 am Thursday, July 2, 2020 at Springhill Pentecostal Church in Wesson, MS with interment in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:30-11:30 am Thursday at the church.

Mr. Erwin was born August 13, 1944 in Hazlehurst, MS to Joe Erwin and Valentine Morgan Erwin. He was married to Barbara Joan Thornhill Erwin. He was an automobile body man all his life and the owner operator of Erwin Body Shop in Monticello, MS for 36 years. He was also a good carpenter.  Mr. Erwin was a member of Springhill Pentecostal Church in Wesson, MS. He was a man that lived for and loved the Lord. He was a tremendous family man and provider.

He loved his family and friends very much and Paw Paw as everyone like to call him will be missed more than words can say.

Mr. Erwin was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Erwin and Valentine Morgan Erwin; brother, Joe M. Erwin; sister, Gertrude Beall and brother-in-law, Lee Beall.

Mr. Erwin is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara Joan Thornhill Erwin; son, William Malcolm (Pam) Erwin; daughter, Wanda Denise (Willie) Keys; brother, Ricky Erwin; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Serving as pallbearers were Malcolm Erwin, Jr., Ricky Erwin, Justin Goodman, Willie Keys, Trey Walker and Mike Hamilton.
