William Cloys Franklin, 91, a resident of Morton died Monday, February 3, 2014 at MS Care Center of Morton. Funeral services were held 11 am Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton with burial in the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation was held from 4-8 pm Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at the funeral home. Rev. Paul Smith and Rev. Matt Armstrong officiated the services. Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Franklin was a native of Rankin Co. He was the son of W.W. Franklin and Sudie Welch Franklin. He was married 67 years to Marta Craig Franklin. Mr. Franklin worked as a farmer for many years before retiring. He served his country proudly in the United States Army. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Forkville. He enjoyed working in his garden and being in the outdoors. He loved his family very much and spending time with them brought great joy to his life. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
Mr. Franklin was preceded in death by his parents, W.W. Franklin and Sudie Welch Franklin, sisters, Mary Franklin and Tommie Sue Rhodes and his brother, James Franklin.
Mr. Franklin is survived by his wife, Marta Craig Franklin; sons, Randy Franklin and Mark (Sandra) Franklin; brother, Kenneth (Marie) Franklin; 5 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Serving as pallbearers were Mike Tisdale, Dan Craig, Paul Douglas Craig, Brian Craig, Jim Craig and Billy Rhodes, Ph.D.
