William L. (Bill) Humphrey, 77, a resident of Morton died Thursday, November 28, 2013 at his home. Visitation will be held from 8:30-9:45 am Monday, December 2, 2013 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton with the services at 10 am. Burial will be held at 12 pm Monday in the MS Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Newton, MS. Rev. Earl Clark will officiate the services. Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton will be in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Humphrey was a native of Scott, Arkansas. He was the son of William and Velma Humphrey. He was married to Joyce Hicks Humphrey. Mr. Humphrey was a member of the First Baptist Church of Morton. He served his country in the USMC. He loved his family very much and spending time with them brought great joy to his life. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
Mr. Humphrey is survived by his wife, Joyce Hicks Humphrey of Morton; children, Sam Humphrey of Edinburg, MS and Sonia Voldt of Bellingham, WA; sisters, Charlene Humphrey of Wynn, AR and Joann Hill of Oxford, MS; 4 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Serving as pallbearers were Matthew Walton, Jeff Purvis, Leo Liles, Tony Jones, Joey Jones and Casey Bridges.
