William Elmer Roam, Jr., 91, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS. Visitation is 1 pm until 3 pm Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Richland, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 3 pm in the Parlor at Ott & Lee Funeral Home. Burial will be in Los Osos, California.
Mr. Roam was a was born in Ft. Smith, Arkansas on April 25, 1923. He retired as Captain from the U. S. Army after more than 20 years of Service. He served in World War II and Korea and received the Purple Heart.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Roam of Florence, MS; children, George Roam of Denver, CO, Vickie Freer of Santa Margarita, CA, Diane Leon of Templeton, CA, Cheryl R. Schafer of Santa Maria, CA; step-children, Misty White of Florence, MS, and Jason Vaughn of Florence, MS; a brother, Rick Roam of North Fork, CA; fifteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
