William Harris Scoggins, 69, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 in Richland, MS.
Visitation is Thursday, June 18, 2015 from 5 until 8 pm and again Friday, June 19, 2015 from 2 pm until the 3 pm Service in the Chapel at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Richland with burial to follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS.
William Harris Scoggins was born in Jackson Mississippi on December 12, 1945 to the late William Orville and Ruby Kathryn Armstrong Scoggins. He was a longtime resident of Rankin County and was a graduate of Florence High School and Hinds Community College with a degree in Drafting. He was a certified welder and owned and operated Scoggins Welding & Machine Shop in Richland, MS. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Richland and a Veteran of the Viet Nam War, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a Mason and an avid outdoorsman who loved the outdoors. He was a member of the Old River Hunting Club #2.
Survivors include his wife of almost 50 years, Glenda Murphree Scoggins of Florence, MS; three sons, Spencer Scoggins (Kristin) of Brandon, MS, Andy Scoggins (Jennipher) of Pensacola, Fl, and Kirk Scoggins
(Marcy) of Madison, MS; eight grandchildren, Reed Scoggins, Julianne Scoggins, Brad Scoggins (deceased) Seth Scoggins, Noah Scoggins, Cain Scoggins, Kathryn Scoggins, and Will Scoggins; an aunt, Laquirta Scoggins of Mendenhall, MS; and an uncle, Maxie Scoggins of Mt. Olive, MS.
