William Spears

William Ronald Spears, 79, a resident of Brandon, MS passed away September 28, 2018 at home surrounded by his family. A memorial service will be held at 10 am Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at the funeral home.

Mr. Spears was born on May 15, 1939 in Harris County, Georgia. The son of the late Harold C. Spears and Mildred Moncrief Spears Jones. He graduated from Harris County High School and enlisted in the Army, serving seven years. Mr. Spears then returned to Georgia to begin a career in the trucking industry. He retired as a road driver from Roadway Express after twenty-three years. Mr. Spears was a member of Puckett Baptist Church. He loved his family very much and spending time with them brought great joy to his life. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.

Mr. Spears was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Harold C. Spears, Jr.

Mr. Spears is survived by his wife, Gail Spears; sons, Tim Spears (Lisa) of Easley, SC, Heath Spears (Kristen) of Brandon, MS; daughter, Ronda Bolding of Easley, SC; stepson, Daniel Ryals (Beverly) of Rockville, MD; twelve grandchildren; four great grandchildren; brother, Robert Spears (Joan) of GA and Larry Spears (Helen) of GA; sister, Drucilla Bunn of NC; mother-in-law, Lavonne Overby of Brandon, MS; many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Puckett Baptist Church Building Fund.
