William Sykes

William Jack Sykes, 77, passed away Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation is 2-4 pm Sunday at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Services are 11 am Monday at the funeral home with a 2:30 pm graveside at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery in Hickory. Rev. Ron Harrison will officiate.

Jack was a native of Newton County and a longtime resident of Pearl. He was a graduate of Mississippi State University and retired from the Internal Revenue Service and 20 years of service, and then formed his own Financial Consulting Firm which he operated for many years. Jack was an active longtime member of Eastside Baptist Church in Pearl and was preceded in death by his parents, Tobie and Frances Sykes and son, Phillip Sykes.

Survivors include his wife, Dona Sykes of Pearl; son, William J. “Bill” Sykes (Cheryl) of Clinton; grandson, Brian Conn Sykes of Flowood and brother, Bob Sykes of Lawrence, Kansas.
