William Aaron Tullos

William Aaron “Sam” Tullos, 93, passed peacefully from this life on Sun. Feb. 6, 2022 at his home in Brandon, MS surrounded by his entire family. He was reunited with the love of his life of 72 years, Dorothy Ellen White Tullos. For 8 months and 1 day, He dreamed of, longed for and anticipated this reunion. His heart is whole again.

Mr. Tullos was born on Feb. 19, 1928 in Philadelphia, MS to the late Lonnie B. Tullos and Zella A. Parker Tullos. He served his county for 4 years with the U.S. Navy and was stationed in San Diego, CA. He was 17 years old and his father had to sign for him to be able to enlist. Mr. Tullos worked for Illinois Central Gulf Railroad Company and retired in March of 1987 as a Switchman after 30 plus years. He was also a charter member of Brandon Baptist Church in Brandon, MS.

Mr. Tullos is survived by his 4 children, Elaine Tullos King, Donald Aaron Tullos (Cindy), Laura Tullos Alford (Richard) and Amy Tullos Dial (Tim); 10 grandchildren, Malisa Walters (Drew), Leslie Smith, Holly Moncrief (Joe), Cassie Alford, Zachery Tullos (Marley), Evan Dial (Rachel), Landon Dial, Adria Alford, Brooke Alford and Carlton Mitchell (Paige) and 4 great grandchildren, Taylor Walters, Abigail Smith, Wheeler Mitchell and Hudson Dial. Mr. Tullos is also preceded in death by his sister, Bobbie Jean Thornton and 3 brothers, Billy Tullos, Parker Tullos and T.C. Tullos.

Visitation will be held on Tues. Feb. 8, 2022 from 5pm-7pm and on Wed. Feb. 9, 2022 from 9am-9:45am at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 10am on Wed. Feb. 9, 2022 at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Brandon, MS with burial to follow in the Crestview Memorial Gardens in Brandon, MS.
