William H. “Bill” Bailey, 73, passed away Sat. April 6, 2013 after a hard fought battle with Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Visitation will be held Mon. April 8, 2013 from 5pm.-8pm. at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 10am. Tues. April 9, 2013 at the funeral home with a 4pm. graveside service to follow at the Shelby City Cemetery in Bolivar County, MS.
Bill was born to the late Herbert E. and Christine Self Bailey on December 18, 1939 in Merigold, MS. He is preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Bailey Chaney. Bill was an avid sportsman and loved nothing better than to sit in a deer stand or wet a hook.
He is survived by his loving wife and faithful caregiver, Sandra L. Bailey; his four children, Tracey K. Bailey of Madison, MS, Deborah D. “Dee Dee” Bailey of Tokyo, Japan, William H. Bailey II of Flower Mound, TX and Stephany “Christi” Bailey of Pelahatchie, MS; daughter-in-law, Holly A. Bailey; sister, Peggy Spencer of Columbia, MS and two grandchildren, Dawson Bailey and Kathleen E. Bailey of Flower Mound, TX.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the MDA Clinic at University Hospital at 2500 N. State St. Jackson, MS 39216 or the Muscular Dystrophy Association at 2001 Airport Rd. #205 Flowood, MS 39232.
