Mr. Willie Bufkin
October 7, 1938 — May 27, 2017
Funeral services for Mr. Willie James Bufkin will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 3, 2017 from the True Light M.B. Church with the Rev. Larry L. Weathers officiating. Interment will follow in the True Light Cemetery under the direction of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest.
Visitation will be on Friday, June 2, 2017 from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
Willie James Bufkin was born on October 7, 1938 at Walnut Grove and passed away on May 27, 2017 at his home at the age of 78.
He was a resident of this area for over forty years, and a retired bus driver for Forest Head Start and Scott Central School. Mr. Bufkin had a special love for “all children” as they were very special to him. He will be remembered as a “family man” who enjoyed gardening, fishing, and supporting the sports field of football, basketball and baseball. A proud member of the True Light Male Chorus, Mr. Bufkin, was a faithful member of the True Light M.B. Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Arthur Lee and L.V. Nicholson Bufkin, and several siblings.
Survivors include his wife: Mrs. Mollie D. Brewer Bufkin of Forest; seven children: Lorraine Bufkin Smith (Joseph) of Forest; James L. Bufkin (Theresa) of South Korea; Clarence Bufkin (Stephanie) of Louisville; Anthony Bufkin (Monica) of Forest; Angela Bufkin Vivans (John) of Forest; Elliott T. Bufkin (Shuwanda) Bufkin of Carthage; and Samuel T. Bufkin (Ka-Trina) of South Carolina; three sisters: Hattie, Flossie, and Shirley; a host of grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
