Joyce was born on February 18, 1951, in Morton, MS. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Joyce lived life to the fullest. She loved the Lord and lived his word. She was one to say what was on her mind, no matter what the situation was and loved talking about the Lord to you. One of her famous sayings was, “If the Lord is willing. It’s not what we leave behind that counts it’s what we leave in people’s hearts.” Joyce has a special place in the hearts of the ones she crossed paths with. She will forever be loved and missed by all.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Sam Otis Shoemaker and Margarette Lucille Bishop Shoemaker.
She is survived by her children she loved dearly, Tammy Frith (Greg) of Morton, Marsha Oxner (Tarpley) of Florence and Michael Stanley (Kathy) of Pelahatchie; siblings, Son Otis Shoemaker of Morton, Margarette Donald (Greg) of Morton, Cynthia Dunn (Mike) of Morton and Roger Dale Shoemaker of Morton; her furbaby, Lady; 4 grandchildren, Joycelyn Carter, Jeremy Carter, Emily Chapman (John) and Thomas Stanley; and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Carter, Thomas Stanley, Caleb Williams, Mike Dunn, John Chapman and Tarpley Oxner. Honorary pallbearer will be Charlie Sledge.
A signature that Joyce was famous for was on every card and letter she wrote, she always ended it with, Jesus Loves. What a great legacy to leave behind to be remembered by.
