Willie J. Ward, 78, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at Crossgates River Oaks Hospital in Flowood, MS. Visitation is Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 10 am at Galilee Baptist Church.
Funeral Services are 11 am Saturday at Galilee Baptist Church with burial in the Church Cemetery.
Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS is in charge of arrangements.

Willie Joe Ward was born on January 5, 1935 in Neshoba County, Mississippi to the late William Brady and Mary Annie Mowdy Ward. He served in the U. S. Air Force from 1953 to 1957. He married Patricia Ann Cook on August 31, 1957. He was an auto mechanic and worked for Van-Trow Oldsmobile before opening his own business, Wards Windshield Repair. He had lived in the Puckett, MS area for over 47 years and was a member and deacon of Galilee Baptist Church. He loved fishing and being outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, James Michael Ward; his brother, L. J. Ward; and his sister, Loretta Winters.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Patricia Ward; two daughters, Charlotte Robinson (Cullen) and Debbie Clark (Mark) all of Puckett, MS; his brother, Dewayne Ward of Morton, MS; four grandchildren,
Brad Cole, Jennifer Winstead, Kristen Edwards, and Brittany Clark; and three great grandchildren, Maylee Winstead, Rylee Edwards, and Mason Winstead.

Memorials may be made to Galilee Baptist Church Building Fund, 225 Smith County Road, 138, Mendenhall, MS 39114.
