Willie Inez Gould Varner, 99, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2015, at Merit Health Crossgates. Visitation will be 4-8pm Sunday, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Services are 10:00am Monday, October 19, 2015, in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment will follow in Cross Roads Cemetery in Pelahatchie, MS.
Mrs. Varner was born in Scott County on April 16, 1916 to George Francis Gould and Emma Joan Lee Gould. She was a member of Grandview Baptist Church in Pearl, MS. Mrs. Varner loved to read her Bible, crochet and enjoyed gardening flowers in her yard. She loved her family and friends and will be dearly missed by all.
Survivors include her daughter, Arthurine Burnham (Johnny) of Pearl and son, George Varner (Barbara) of Florence; she is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 24 great-great grandchildren and 5 great-great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband A.D. Varner; son, Gerald Varner and a great grandson, Pat Wells.
