Willie Mae Westerfield, age 91, passed away on January 31, 2017 at the Mississippi Care Center in Morton. She was met at heavens gates with hands out stretched by her son, Mel and grandchildren, Kim & Michael Perry. She lived her whole life serving God, family and community. Visitation was held 5-7pm Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton and on 10am-10:45am Friday, February 3, 2017 at Polkville United Pentecostal Church with services at 11am where burial followed. Bishop Barron Price, Bro. Jeremy Price and Bro. Tal Vardaman officiated the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.


Willie Mae Westerfield was born in Scott County on January 4, 1926. She loved the Lord and lived out her faith daily. She was her happiest when spending time with her famly who absolutely cherished and adored her. Willie Mae enjoyed sewing, cooking and reading her Bible daily.


Preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Eula Harrison; husband, Floyd Westerfield; son, Mel Westerfield; grandchildren, Kim & Michael Perry; sisters, Lula Mae Phillips and Lois Adcox; brothers, Grady, Jim, Arther Neal and Jack Harrison.


She is survived by her children, Glen Westerfield (Ann) of Brandon, Eloise Coward (Shelby) of Morton, Debbie Westerfield of Brandon, Hilda Bradshaw (David) of Morton, Lane Waggoner (Larry) of Pelahatchie, 5 grandchildren, Sonya Arey (Greg) of Charlotte, NC, David Coward (Jacqueline) of Morton, Brad Westerfield of London England, Crystal Warren (Greg) of Forest and Haley Ruppert (Matt) of Brandon; 9 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Debbie Westerfield of Brandon; sister, Minnie Lee Lingle of Morton; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers were David Coward, Blake Coward, Brantley Cox Arey, Bryson Cox Arey, John West Perry and Matt Ruppert. Honorary pallbearers were Greg Arey, Greg Warren, Collin Warren, Dawson Warren, Bobby Harrison and Jimmy Phillips.

Memorials may be made in her honor to the Polkville United Pentecostal Church.
