BURIAL: LUDLOW CEMETERY

VISIT: 5-8 PM WEDNESDAY AND 10 AM THURSDAY UNTIL THE 11 AM SERVICE

W. Randolph Black, 84, passed away on Tues. Feb. 7, 2012 at his home following a long illness. Visitation will be held Wed. Feb. 8, 2012 from 5pm.-8pm. and Thurs. Feb. 9, 2012 from 10am.-10:45am. at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 11am. Thurs. Feb. 9, 2012 at the funeral home with burial to follow in the Ludlow Cemetery.

Mr. Black was a resident of Madison, MS. He previously resided many years in Ludlow and Morton, MS. He was in the U.S. Army and a veteran of World War II.

His early years were spent as a farmer for which he maintained a lifetime passion. He also worked as a manager at Talon Industries in Morton, MS for approximately 25 years. He also served as a Justice Court Judge in Scott County. Later, he became involved with a very close friend, Edwin Davis, and worked at Ed Davis Chevrolet in Pelahatchie, MS.

Mr. Black was always active in his church activities. He served many years as a deacon at both Ludlow and First Baptist Church of Morton. After moving to Madison, he became an active member of Parkway Hills Methodist Church.

Mr. Black was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Carl and Lura Lee Black; sisters, Violet Bogdahn, May Roberson and daughter-in-law, Penny Black. He is survived by his wife, Bobbie of 63 years; daughter, Deborah Westerfield (Mel) of Brandon; sons, David Black (Brenda) of Brandon, Richard Black of Madison and John Black of Madison; daughters-in-law, Dianne Black of Madison and Charlene Black of Brandon; grandchildren, Kim Perry (Michael) of Oxford, Brad Westerfield of London, England, Meghann Black, Amanda Black, and Jake Black all of Brandon, Colby Black, Tyler Black and Alex Black of Madison; great-grandchildren, Sarah, John West, and Anna Reed Perry of Oxford.

Mr. Black was known for his kind, just, loving, and compassionate spirit. He is very much loved by his family and we will treasure his memories forever.
