Willis Steenhuis

Willis Johnson Steenhuis, 82, joined his heavenly father April 13, 2018. Visitation will be held on Mon. April 16, 2018 from 9am-9:45am at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 10am on Mon. April 16, 2018 at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Brandon, MS with burial to follow in the Lakeland Place Garden Park Cemetery in Brandon, MS.

Willis was known by many names and would answer to any of them. Popa, Paw Paw, Dad, Coach, Teach and Will the Skill. Knowledge and life lessons he taught to many. Will made an impact on their lives forever. His passion for sports was undeniable. He played or coached 19 state championship teams and was inducted into 4 Hall of Fames, Hinds Junior College, MS College, MS Coaches Association and Semi Pro.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Steenhuis; son, Stanley Steenhuis (Sonya) of Seattle, WA; daughter, Terri Sadovsky of Ridgeland, MS; 2 grandchildren, Nicholas Steenhuis of Brandon, MS and Ashley Brinkman of Ridgeland, MS; 2 great grandchildren, Cadence Steenhuis and Trinnedy Brinkman; sister, Gwen Steenhuis Carter.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Willis Steenhuis Fund at Regions Bank.
