Wilma Lee Dukes Jones, 81, of Brandon passed away January 4, 2014 at St. Dominic Hospital.
Mrs. Jones was born November 15, 1932 at home in White Oak, Mississippi. She attended White Oak High School. Mrs. Jones was married to the love of her life, Robert Colon Jones, on March 20, 1950 and moved to Jackson. They were married for 28 years until his death in 1978.
For forty years Mrs. Jones worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield, first as Cashier, then Head Cashier and after the death of Mr. Jones she worked as Representative for the State of Mississippi and Baton Rouge.
Mrs. Jones is preceded in death by her mother and father: Barney and Nettie Dukes of White Oak and her brother, Arthur Dukes of Jackson.
She is survived by her three daughters: Cynthia Leonard of Brandon; Theresa Gibson (Charlie) of Brandon and Deborah Denham (Franklin) of Meridian; seven grandchildren: Julie Alicia Leonard Baugh (Joe) of Hattiesburg, Leigh Ann Leonard Barnes (Dan) of Madison, Chad Gibson (Brooke) of Ocean Springs; Tyler Gibson of Jackson; Shellie Denham of Madison; Lauren Denham Pratt (Brandon) of Meridian; and Ragan Denham (Whitney) of Brandon; seven great grandchildren: Rebekah Baugh, Joseph Baugh, Jacob Baugh, Mary Michael Barnes, Avery Barnes, Logan Gibson and Lawson Gibson; and one brother: Oscar Dukes of Raleigh.
Visitation will be 4:00 until 7:00pm Monday evening, January 6 and 12:00 noon Tuesday morning with funeral to follow at 1:00pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson.
Pallbearers are Joe Baugh, Dan Barnes, Chad Gibson, Tyler Gibson, Ragan Denham, Brandon Pratt and Chris Taylor.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Joys R Us class at Colonial Heights Baptist Church Jackson.
