Wilma Garvin Watson age 79 , of Brandon, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2020 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS.
She was born in Newton, MS on April 26, 1941 to the late Elbert Lavon Garvin and Gladys Dennis Garvin. Wilma graduated from Newton High School in 1959. She earned a BA Degree in Business in 1962 from the University of MS where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority. From then she went on to earn a MBA from MS College in 1974. She worked for MS Power and Light Co. as and Accounting Clerk, the IRS as a Tax Auditor, Merchants and Farmers Bank Acting Trust Officer, Farmers Home Administration as a County Office Assistant, then concluding her career as a Homemaker. She loved yard and gardening, was a member of Lakeland Presbyterian Church in Flowood, MS, and had lived in Brandon since 1989. She is survived by her husband of 44 years John James Watson.
