Winnie Willis Jordon, age 101, left this world peacefully to spend eternity with her Heavenly family and Lord on January 24, 2019.

She was born in Seminary, MS on January 7, 1918 to Charles and Ada Napier.  Her early years were filled with travel.  She and her daughter, Jean, followed Navy officer, husband, Mack Willis overseas and various parts on the east coast.

She had 3 loves, her Lord, family and teaching. Between her husband’s shore duties, she finished her education at USM.  Winnie’s teaching career spanned 28 years.  She loved teaching and passed her dedication on to her daughter, Jean who was also a teacher.

Guests who attended her 100th birthday party related how she influenced them spiritually and with her positive attitude about life.

Spending time with her family was her favorite past time.  In later years she moved to Brandon, where she enjoyed DAR, Brandon Baptist Church, senior activities and spending time with her grandchildren.  She felt honored to be a charter member of Brandon Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Jean Milner Herrington (Lester) and 3 grandsons and wives, Gregg, Brad (Amy), Derick (Jennifer) Milner.  She felt so blessed to have 3 beautiful great granddaughters, Lainey, Lily and Amelia.  She was preceded in death by her husbands, Mack Willis and Howard Jordon.

Services will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, January 28, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, with visitation starting at 10:00 am.  Interment will be at Eminence Methodist Cemetery near Seminary at 2:00 pm Tuesday.   Dr. Clarence Cooper and Rev. Gaydon Harrell will officiate the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brandon Baptist Church building fund.
