Peoples died Monday, May 19, 2014 at River Oaks Hospital in Flowood, Mississippi. “Nona” born December 26, 1924 in Leake County, was married to Clayton R Peoples for 63 years. She spent most of her married life in Pearl Mississippi, making a home for her family. She was a faithful charter member of Paul Truitt Memorial Baptist Church, teaching Sunday school for many years. She is survived by her children: Becky White of Russellville, KY, Kathy (Leonard) Powell of Ponce Inlet, FL, & Bobby Peoples of Flowood, MS; grandchildren: Clay (Susan) White of Goodlettsville, TN, Kristin (Rusty) Bain of Richland, MS, Jeremy (Staci) Powell of Woodstock, GA, Robby Peoples of Denver, CO, great-grandchildren: Christian Whitfield, Amelia Whitfield, Julia Bain, Riley Powell, Marin Powell, Karis Powell; & sisters: Carolyn Tew of Pearl, Barbara (Pat) Kemp of Brandon, Rhetta Culberson of Pelahatchie, Sandra (Larry) Loftin of Printiss, and Sue Cumberland of Mendenhall, MS. Visitation will be at Ott & Lee Funeral home in Brandon, MS on Wednesday May 21, 2014 from 12 until 2:00 pm, with services in the chapel immediately following visitation. There will be a graveside service for family at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl. Pallbearers are: Jeff Kemp, Josh Windham, Ben Windham, Lee Gilbert, Don Williamson, Johnson Marsalis, and David Stribling serving as an honorary pallbearer.
