Winston Ray Cox, 75, joined his Heavenly Father on Sunday, April 23, 2023.  Ray passed away at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS.  Visitation will be 5-8pm Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS.  Funeral services will be 2pm Friday, April 28, 2023, at Rehobeth Baptist Church in Pelahatchie, MS, with visitation starting at 1pm at the church.  Burial will follow in Rehobeth Cemetery.

Ray was born in Canton, MS, on June 14, 1947, to Winston E. Cox and Mary Emma Renfroe Cox.  He was member of Rehobeth Baptist Church.  Ray studied Architect and Draftsman Design by hand at the University of Southern Mississippi.  He worked with many contractors over the years designing commercial buildings, churches, and restaurants in which he took pride in his designs and work ethic. Ray also was a metal building salesman and was Santa Clause for a number of events, nonprofit organizations, private homes, and businesses.  He was very generous and had a heart of gold; he would give or help anyone in a time of need. Ray loved his country and was very patriotic.

Survivors include his wife, Hilda Cox; children, Anthony Cox (Vi Anh), Angie Johnson (Kurt), and Derrick Evans (Hannah); sister, Mary Lois Summerlin; grandchildren, Brennan Cox, Dylan Jones, Triston Jones, Natalie Johnson, Carson Evans, and Wren Evans; and several nieces and nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
