Yancy Monroe Stamper, Sr., 53, died Monday, August 26, 2013 at Hospice Ministries, Inc. in Ridgeland, MS. Visitation will be today, August 27, 2013 at 5 pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Memorial Services will begin at 6 pm in the Funeral Home Chapel.
Yancy Monroe Stamper was born on August 30, 1959 in Brandon, MS to the late Floyd Monroe Stamper, Jr. and Hughla McNair. He served in the U. S. Army. A lifelong resident of Brandon, he worked for A & W Welding for several years before becoming disabled. He was a member of Crossgates Baptist Church.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was also an avid sportsman and outdoorsman who loved the outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Evelyn Brand.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Lynn Firmin Stamper of Brandon, MS; three children, Christy Shows (Jimmy) of Magee, MS, Yancy Stamper, Jr. and Kevin Stamper both of Brandon, MS; two grandchildren, Laura Shows and Olen Shows both of Magee, MS; one sister, Ann Stamper and one brother, Joe Stamper both of Brandon, MS.
