Mrs. Zelda V. Parker, age 81, a resident of the Leesburg community in Rankin County, passed away on Sunday 6, 2022 at River Oaks Hospital, in Flowood, MS.
Born to "Bob" and Josie Dooley Culberson on October 29, 1940. She was the last of nine children. She married her husband O.T. Parker, on, May 16, 1961. They had two children, Greg and Jerry. Mrs. Parker worked in the parts business for fifty years. Venie, or Nanny as most people knew her, loved life, and especially her family. Mrs. Parker was a member of Rehobeth Baptist Church and was a regular volunteer at ERCO, ministering to those in need. An avid reader, she loved to cook for her family, and done so regularly for her "boys" at Parker Farms. She was a special lady and will be greatly missed by her family and all that knew her.
Preceded in death, by parents, Bob and Josie Culberson; siblings, J.C. Culberson, A.J. Culberson, B.J. Culberson Alfred Ray Culberson, Earl Dewayne Culberson, France Irene Culberson, Thelma Ledlow and Mary Dean Cumberland; grandson, Jeffery Parker; husband, O.T. Parker. Survived by two sons, Greg Parker and Jerry Parker, wife (Gina); four grandchildren, Lacey Parker, Daniel Parker, Cody Parker, Kristen Parker; two great grandchildren, Lanie Parker and Gage Crapps.
Visitation will be 5:00pm to 8:00pm Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at Ott and lee Funeral Home in Morton, MS Wednesday, 10:00am to 11:00am February 9, 2022 at Rehobeth Baptist Church, the service will follow at 11:00am there at the Church, Bro. T.J. Bates and Bro. Bobby Tagert officiating. Interment will be in the Church Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers, Cody Parker, Daniel Parker, Gage Parker, Shawn Crosswhite, James Pentecost and Nic Williams; honorary pallbearers are Terry Cumberland, Pete Cumberland, Rory Garcia Chad Gaar and Sam Cumberland.
