Betty Jo Upchurch Sanders , age 84, a resident of Birmingham, AL died July 29, 2014 following an extended illness.
The family will receive friends from Noon to 1pm Friday August 1, 2014 at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest, MS and then proceed to the Harperville Cemetery for graveside services.
She was born May 10, 1930 to Donald Mac and Martha Upchurch of Mississippi. She was valedictorian of her high school class in Belzoni and graduated from MSCW. She married John Majure Sanders in 1955. Mrs. Sanders was an avid Mississippi State fan but lived her grandchildren most of all.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son Mark Sanders.
Survivors include her husband, John Sanders, her children; Phil Sanders (Shelia) , Melissa Watkins, and a legacy of six grandchildren: Alex Sanders, Ben Sanders, Jim Watkins, Jordan Sanders, Steven Sanders and John Sanders.
