Service: Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at 11am from the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton.

Burial: Unity Assembly of God Cemetery.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Billy Hood, age 83, passed away Saturday morning, August 20, 2022 at his residence.

Billy was born to his parents Charlie Russell Hood and Dorse Hood on March 5, 1939, in Itawamba County, MS.  He later moved to the Morton area, and worked for the B.C. Rogers Poultry Processing Plant as a supervisor for many years.  He loved the Lord, loved being outdoors, and spending time with his family and friends.  He especially loved his four fur babies.  After his retirement, he would often sell fruits, and fresh vegatables  from his pick up truck, as he loved meeting people.  He was a man of great faith, where he served the Lord at his Church Unity Assembly of God.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, a brother, and a son David Hood.

Survivors include his loving wife, Sheliah Massey Hood, of Morton, five children; Greg Hood ( Doreen), Ricky Hood, Patty North, Melissa Hood, Ryan Hood (fiance’ Lindsey), and Jeff Jones (Christy).  He also leaves behind a legacy of 5 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and a host of friends.
