Billy A. Traxler

December 13, 1937 — October 14, 2014

Mr. Billy Traxler, age 76, a resident of Pulaski passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at his residence. Visitation was held 5-8pm Thursday, October 16, 2014 at New Goodhope Baptist Church in Pulaski and will be held 8am-10am Friday at the church. Funeral service will be held 10 am Friday, October 17, 2014 at New Goodhope Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Bro. Joe Crane and Bro. Paul Smith officiated the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Mr. Traxler was born in Smith County in 1937. He loved to be outdoors deer hunting, squirrel hunting and fishing. Billy was a member of the Pineville Hunting Club. He was a faithful member of New Goodhope Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. Billy loved collecting knives and loved drinking his sweet tea. He loved his family very much and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Archie Bilt Traxler and Carlie Evans; daughter, Betty Ann Hugh; son, David Lee Traxler; grandson, Kenny Crenshaw and brother, R.T. Reynolds.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years,Frances Traxler of Pulaski; 5 children, Vangie Barnett (Donnie) of New Site, MS, Crystie Buse (P.T.) of Guntown, MS, Terry Graham (Kathy) of Saltillo, MS, James Traxler of Robinson, Kansas and Billy White of Brandon, MS; brother, Archie Maddox (Caroline) of Pearl, MS; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; special friend, Ricky Murry; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. The family would like to give thanks to his wonderful caregivers.
Pallbearers were Ricky Murray, Joe Morrow, Dusty Graham, Ashley Powell, Alan Marek and Ricky Rhodes.
Memorial may be made in his honor to the New Goodhope Baptist Church Fellowship Building Fund, 428 New Goodhope Church Rd., Pulaski, MS 39152.
