Billy B. Thomas, 82, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at his residence after a long battle with cancer. Visitation is 5-8 pm Friday at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Services are 11 am Saturday at the funeral home with burial in Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl. Dr. Clarence Cooper and Rev. Bernard Nail will officiate
Billy was born on October 14, 1932 to William Robert and Amanda Elizabeth Thomas of Leake County. He attended Madden High School and served in the U. S. Army from 1953 to 1955.In November 1955, he married the former Linda Phillips of Leake County. They lived in the south Jackson area for approximately 40 years and moved to Brandon in September 1992. Billy was an active member of Brandon Baptist Church serving as a deacon and a member of Bro. Bernard Nail’s Sunday School Class.
He is survived by his wife Linda of 59 years; sons, Ronald Anthony Thomas (Margie) of Greenville, South Carolina and Kendall Lane Thomas of Brandon; granddaughters, Amber Nicole Thomas and Haley Marie Thomas; grandsons, Austin Kyle Thomas and Zachary Stewart Thomas.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials to the Building Fund of Brandon Baptist Church, 100 Brandon Baptist Drive, Brandon, MS 39042.
