G.W. "Junior" Davis

Funeral services for G.W. “Junior” Davis will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 from the Ott and Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Forest with Rev. Ricky Gray and Rev. Howard Benton officiating. Burial will be in the Hillsboro Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Forest. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 1:00 P.M. until 2:45 P.M. prior to the services at the funeral home.
Mr. Davis, 83, passed away Monday, August 11, 2014 at St. Dominic Memorial Hospital in Jackson. He retired from International Paper in 1993. He previously served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher for 30 years and trustee at Hillsboro Baptist Church where he was a member. His hobbies were gardening, woodworking, hunting, and spending time with his four grandsons.
Survivors include two children: Ronny Davis of Harperville and Lesa Davis and her husband, Tommy of Forest; one brother: Raymond Davis and his wife, Betty of Meridian; four grandsons: Dr. Mitch Davis of Flowood; Nick Davis and his wife, Kelli of Forest; Coty Cox and his wife, Kati of Amory; and Davis Mart of Forest; one great-grandchild: Rivers Nelson of Amory; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years Annie Laurie Davis; one son: Randy Davis; his parents: George and Mattie Jones Davis; and three brothers: Arthur, Sam, and James Davis.
