Jean Conner

December 9, 1929 — November 27, 2014

Jean Conner, 84, of Brandon, MS passed away peacefully Thanksgiving morning, November 27, 2014, at Crossgates River Oaks Hospital in Brandon. Visitation will be held at 12 noon Sunday, November 30, 2014 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Services will follow at 2 pm Sunday at the funeral home with burial at Crestview Memorial Gardens.
Jean was born December 9, 1929 in Electric Mills, Mississippi. She was married to John Conner for 65 years and they had four children. To her family she was “GG” and known as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Jean was a member of Brandon First United Methodist Church for 55 years and anyone who stood close to her in church on Sunday mornings was in awe of her beautiful singing voice. She was a true homemaker and avid follower of Mississippi State University Sports, particularly football and baseball.
Jean is survived by her husband John Conner, sister Carol Valentine of Round Rock, Texas, daughter Barbara Tigrett (David) of Brentwood TN, son Mike Conner (Sherri) of Brandon, MS, daughter Cathy Graves (David) of Tunica, MS and son Bill Conner (Memrie) of Brandon, MS. She had 12 grandchildren, Christy Huff (Bobby), LCRD Matt Tigrett (Marci), Amy Thorpe (Todd), Brad Conner, Jessie McNeil (Cole), Sarah Conner, Michael Conner, Katy Graves, John David Graves, Chris Graves ( Haley), Whitt Conner and Josh Conner along with 12 great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Brandon First United Methodist Church, Brandon, MS to the Family Life Building Fund.
The family wishes to thank Jean’s many friends for their love and kindness, along with Dr. Galen Poole and the medical professionals at Crossgates River Oaks Hospital for their compassionate care.
