Margaret P. Turner, 81 passed away Wed. Oct. 22, 2014 at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held on Friday Oct. 24, 2014 from 5pm-8pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services will be 11am on Sat. Oct. 25, 2014 at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Brandon, MS.
Mrs. Turner was born in North Carolina, was a longtime resident of Columbia, SC, and has been a resident of Jackson, MS for the past eight years. She was an avid Atlanta Braves Fan, enjoyed NASCAR Races, working word puzzles, reading and telling jokes. Most of all she just enjoyed talking.
She is survived by her two children, Brenda Carpenter (Wade), and Robert Turner (Diane); 5 grandchildren, Cody Turner, Trent Turner, Lexie Turner, Allan Carpenter (Jahmia), and Chris Carpenter (Regan); 3 great grandchildren, Savannah Carpenter, Allie Carpenter, and Colston Carpenter and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Turner is preceded in death by her husband, Maynard Turner; parents, Allie and Virginia Poteat; 3 sisters, Mary Milner, Jeanette Turner, and Jane Byrd and 5 brothers, Richard Poteat, Billy Poteat, Donald Poteat, Raymond Poteat, and Allie Poteat Jr.
