Melinda Pigott

Melinda Ann Pigott, age 66, a resident of Pearl, MS passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS with interment in Lakeland Place Garden Park Cemetery in Brandon, MS. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 am Tuesday at the funeral home.

Ms. Pigott was born on January 1, 1955, in New Orleans, LA to Winston Tyler Pigott and Rose Ellen Breeland Bounds. She worked as an office manager for Servpro of Brandon, MS many years before retiring. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Pearl, MS. Ms. Pigott enjoyed arranging events to raise money for the Leukemia-Lymphoma Society. She loved being with her family and friends and spending time with them brought great joy to her life. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.

Ms. Pigott was preceded in death by her father, Winston Tyler Pigott and brother-in-law, Jim Israel.

Ms. Pigott is survived by her son, Vince (Melissa) Vavrunek; mother, Rose Ellen Breeland Bounds; grandchildren, Ella Rose Vavrunek, Anna Lea Vavrunek and Eva Tyler Vavrunek; brother, Winston Tyler (Daphne) Pigott, Jr.; sisters, Bertie Diana Israel, and Sandra Rose Pigott (Ron) Knox; nephews, Craig (Vera) Knox, Brent (Andrea) Knox and Brad (Amy) Pigott; niece, Emily (Derrick) Cross and a host of friends.
